AWS Cloud Engineer

OPPORTUNITY

Our team is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated AWS Cloud Engineer. As part of this team, you will be working closely to design, automate, and implement industry leading solutions to support internal needs of our SaaS based platform. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future infrastructure design and implementation for our future platform. This role involves limited supervision, but largely works independently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Support infrastructure of software running on AWS (Kubernetes, Docker, serverless, AD)
  • Support development team with knowledge of queues, services, Aurora, builds and deployment
  • Analyze, Architect, Design and Implement solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements of a cloud platform
  • Develop and apply technical expertise in AWS cloud offering to promote innovative solutions
  • Advise on AWS technology options/tradeoffs and enabling the right solution for the situation
  • Continuously document solutions (e.g. architecture, configuration and setup).
  • Continuously improve and optimize costs with regard to service/resource consumption
  • Develop specifications and standards for cloud related services and platforms to ensure consistency and integration across products and services in the organization
  • Ensure effective business recovery procedures are in place and tested
  • Follow security and data compliance guidelines
  • Learn and adapt new and emerging technologies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related field
    • Candidates with equivalent work experience are also going to be considered
  • 5+ years of related IT business work experience
  • 3+ years designing/deploying/supporting AWS solutions
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • Experienced with AWS security and IAM policies
  • Experience in AWS Technologies: IAM, S3, Lambda, EC2, ECR, ECS, EKS, EBS, RDS/Aurora, Step Functions, API Gateway, ElastiCache, Route 53, VPC, Security Groups, KMS, Systems Manager, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Elastic Load Balancer
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Nice to Haves:

    • Certifications:
      • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
      • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
      • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
