Role Overview

We're looking for a Marketing and Events Planning Lead to own and evolve Pilot Energy’s event planning, affiliations, and support outbound lead generation activities. This is a unique opportunity for a visionary marketing professional who wants to utilize their marketing and public relations expertise to drive meaningful industry affiliations and new lead generation in a complex, fast-changing industry.

In this role, you’ll develop persuasive, professional marketing content, plan events, and leverage media opportunities, to increase Pilot’s reach and brand story with current and prospective customers. You’ll work across departments—from sales to product to leadership—to define our brand voice, optimize campaigns, and deliver real business outcomes.


What You’ll Do

· Organize, plan and execute a calendar of events, sponsorships, industry association memberships, panels and other in-person activities to promote Pilot Energy’s business and commercial organization; collaborate with other Marketing and Sales staff.

· Develop Pilot’s branding efforts nationally to ensure our capabilities are differentiated against competition, and that prospects can clearly see why they should work with us.

· Develop targeted industry segmentation marketing content, research and write position papers and case studies by customer segment, in order to demonstrate Pilot’s capabilities to serve each industry and interest potential clients.

· Support outbound lead generation activities through collaboration on outside lead generation providers’ performance; and conduct in-house email and telephone marketing campaigns to drive new business leads to Sales (test new campaigns).

· Develop and execute a media strategy and proactive and responsive media mentions, leveraging social, events, podcasts, associations, and other channels.

· Partner with Sales and Business Development and learn our CRM environment to generate and nurture qualified leads through Events and Affiliations and Outbound Marketing.

· Analyze performance data and provide ongoing reporting, insights, and recommendations.

· Stay current with marketing trends and emerging technologies to keep Pilot’s strategy innovative and competitive.


What We’re Looking For

· 2+ years of experience in marketing, growth marketing, or event planning roles.

· Preferred 2+ years of experience in commercial/industrial sales/marketing and/or energy/gas brokering/retail energy background in customer facing roles.

· Ability to develop strategy and execution—from big-picture planning to hands-on implementation.

· Strong experience with sponsorships, events, affiliations, webinars/podcasts, and customer-facing events.

· A passion for energy, sustainability, or emerging technology is a plus.

· Exceptional communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
