Virtual PPA (VPPA)
Category: Procurement
A financial contract, also called a contract for differences, where a corporate buyer agrees to pay a fixed price for renewable energy and receives the floating market price in return. No physical electricity is delivered — the buyer continues to purchase power from its retailer. The VPPA provides a financial hedge against renewable energy price exposure.
